Bargaining commenced on 31 May & 1 June for the establishment of a new Collective Agreement between NZPFU and FENZ, with both parties pleased at the progress made to date across a broad range of issues. The parties meet again on Friday 8 June to spend time focussed on Comcens, with the following Friday 15 June set down to resume the balance of the bargaining.
Command and Control / Integrated Leadership and Development Programme (ILDP)
The Incident and Leadership development programme (ILDP) is a new Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) course (formerly Tactical Command).

The above appliance has on-going issues with the shape of the front tyres. This has been known for several weeks and has not been addressed by Management.
This situation has now progressed to the point where the vehicle is no longer safe to operate at normal road speed.
As a result, the Local strongly recommends that no member operate this vehicle until such time as the issue with the front tyres is corrected and the vehicle
is returned to a safe operating condition.
Target Operating Model - Command & Control
On the 7th and 8th May the NZPFU gathered a group of Senior Operational and Union leaders. The purpose of the meeting was for developing an NZPFU position on Command and Control that represents our members best interests and those of the organisation as a whole. We would like to acknowledge the members below and FENZ for their contribution to make this happen. Those members were:
