IT log on issues being tackled

FENZ has asked us to distribute this notice for members information:

As many of you will have noticed, you’re having to log on multiple times to access applications on the intranet. I know this is very frustrating and we are disappointed that you are having this experience.

We’re doing everything possible to fix this as soon as we can and we’ll keep you updated.

This issue is all about security. We’ve moved our intranet to the ‘cloud’, for performance and future mobility. This means you can get to it from anywhere and on any devices, but this also means we need an extra level of security.

For this reason you need to log in to get past the home page, to the IT applications (eg SMS) you use regularly. The system also has a time limit for how long you can stay logged on. Once it ‘times out’, you have to log on again.

Clearly having to log on multiple times is frustrating. We are looking into whether we can provide access to some applications such as SMS directly through an icon on your screen, rather than having to go through the intranet. This would mean less logging on.

We are also working on extending the time you can stay logged on before the system ‘times out’.

If you are still having problems getting access, or can’t find what you need, please ring the IT helpdesk on 0800 374 843.
