The Union has for some years now
operated as agent for a Whole of Life Accident & Injury
Compensation Insurance that is available to all members.
The Insurance Policy also
incorporates A Total & Partial Disability Schedule of Payments.
The Policy gives cover while on or off duty, 7 days a week, every
day of the year.
Members of the Union are able to have
premiums deducted from their wages by the Fire Service and
directed to the Union who, acting as agent, passes the money on to
the Insurance Company.
Benefits cease on retirement.
The policy can also be used as an
assignment for Mortgage Guarantee purposes.

All that is required to join the
policy is to fill out the appropriate Pay Deduction Form and send
it to the Pay Office at Fire Service National HQ Wellington.

Upon receipt of your first payment by
the Union, you will be automatically enrolled as a policy member,
and coverage will begin from that time.
