You protect them, who protects you?
The Northern Branch of the New Zealand Professional
Firefighters Union are pleased to present all members the UNITED
FIREFIGHTERS PERSONAL ACCIDENT PROTECTION PLAN. This plan evolved in
response to our needs for financial compensation following an
accident and offers 24-hour protection against both short and
long-term disabilities.
The UNITED Plan was established over 20 years ago and has provided
financial assistance to hundreds of union members during this time.
It is the wish of the Northern Branch executive that this form of
private Personal Accident Protection cover always be available.
The original plan is to continue and has now been reviewed. We are
pleased to be able to report to existing members that not only have
we achieved increased policy coverage in the form of fewer
exclusions and wider Accident definitions, but also an overall
reduction in premium. These lower premiums are available immediately
to existing Plan members on completion of a new application form.
We urge all members to seriously consider the many benefits the
United Plan offers, especially now that changes to ACC have been
made (deletion of lump sum settlements).
The Northern Branch executive is committed to providing for the
needs of its members and is available at all times to answer queries
and assist on any welfare matters.
The option is yours.
The United plan provides financial compensation in the
unfortunate event of you being unable to carry on your usual
duties due to a personal accident. Lump Sum benefits are payable
for Death or Permanent Disability while a per shift benefit is
payable (up to 2 years) for Temporary Disability lasting more than
seven days.
Because incomes differ it is important to be able to choose the
level of protection you personally require; three simple options
combining both lump sum and shift allowances are outlined, with
increases to these benefits available on request.
The following schedule shows events insured and benefits payable:
