Every two years operational firefighters are required to undertake the Physical Competency Assessment (PCA) and 2020 is a PCA year.

The PCA has been a requirement since 2003 and the background to the assessment, the elements of the assessment, the payment of a PCA and the rehabilitation process for those that do not adequately perform in the PCA are provided in Schedule 5.6.8 of the current FENZ NZPFU collective agreement.

This week FENZ gave the attached notice listing the ranks required to undertake the PCA.

We have also sought a table of the allowances and the proposed date of payment for the PCA.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
