Auckland Local COVID-19 Update #9 Shift Changes During Level 2

With the transition to Level 2 and the elimination of station bubbles, the risk of exposure to members has been increased.

Members should therefore take all opportunities to minimise any risk of exposure wherever possible, and are instructed that controlled shift changes should still occur, ensuring a 4 on / 4 off change of personnel is still maintained. (Or appliance crew for appliance crew at multi-pump stations).

The only exception is for someone coming from another station for an overtime on a 24 hour shift.

This will minimise first degree separations, including the number of personnel that need to be stood down, if a member were to later get sick during the shift.

This instruction will continue to be assessed, and the effects of Level 2 on our operational response continued to be addressed at regular meetings with Management.

If any member has any queries, please contact one of your station cluster representatives.
