The Auckland Local wishes to remind members that this Saturday is an important day in terms of your future employment.

As you are aware, the General Election influences your employment, not just for the term of the elected government, but for a period after that. The decision (and your families) that you make on Saturday may have a bearing and impact on your continued employment as a firefighter.

Our colleagues at the EPMU have canvassed the major political parties and have had their response to questions put to them relating to workers’ rights, etc.

You will see from the political parties’ responses to these questions that your choice on Election Day will be important to our future as firefighters. Please consider carefully when you place your two ticks in the boxes.
