True to form, the Auckland Fire Region Manager, Brian Butt, has threatened members in Auckland with disciplinary action and/or legal action for following the Bans imposed in the present Strike Action.

Consequent to that, the Union Conference meeting in Palmerston North 22 ‐ 24 November unanimously resolved:

This 23rd Annual Conference of the N.Z.P.F.U. expresses its total disgust and contempt for the bullyboy approach from Auckland Region Manager, Brian Butt and his henchmen. The Conference, noting that this bullying and harassment by Brian Butt is entirely consistent with his attitude throughout his career, consequently expresses its total support and sympathy for Union members in Auckland who, on a day to day basis, are required to endure and suffer from Brian Butt’s bully‐boy attitude.”

The Union, through its lawyers, is currently assembling evidence from affected Union members in Auckland, with the intention of pursuing legal action.

Members will be updated as and when developments occur.
