The Union met with Fire Service representatives today (19 October) in mediation with the assistance of Labour Dept. Mediator – Mike Feely.

The Union was represented by Steve Warner, Peter Hallett, Denis Fitzmaurice and Derek Best.

The employer was represented by Janine Hearn, Paul Baxter, Brett Warwick and Larry Cocker.

The Union presented an amended Claim for consideration.

  • On and from I January 2011
    All Wages & Allowances to increase by 3.5%.

  • On and from 1 July 2011
    All Wages & Allowances to be increased by 3.0%

  • On and from 1 July 2012
    All Wages & Allowances to increase by 3.5%

Changes to Part 4 and Part 3 as previous claims.

Term – C.A. to expire on 30 June 2013.

Return to Work Duties

We have been told that staff wanting to do Return to Work Duties will have to do them at District HQ and they do not intend to reimburse your travel costs, “you are getting an enhanced pay and you can fund your own travel”. We have since got an agreement that the travel distance reimbursement will be paid for travel to District HQ.
