COVID-19 Update - Hello Level 1!

New Zealand passed a significant milestone at midnight last night with the move to Level 1 essentially removing all restrictions other than border control.

There are no Covid-19 cases in NZ.

The NZPFU committee met by telephone conference yesterday and is supportive of station/appliance cleaning protocols returning to pre-Covid-19 protocols but implemented on a risk based approach.

For example, where crews respond to a designated Government quarantine/isolation facility (hotels and motels) the Covid-19 cleaning protocols must be undertaken.

Personal hygiene is still imperative and Covid-19 hand-washing regimes are to continue.

The Covid-19 policies and principles will be wound back but planning is in place to ramp back up through the levels if necessary.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
