COVID-19 vaccine booster shots

Members have been requesting information about the Covid-19 vaccination booster shots.

The Government has reduced the interval between the second Covid-19 vaccination dose and the booster shot from 6 months to 4 months.  

  • Anyone who had their second vaccination shot 6 months ago is eligible now for the booster shot.  
  • From 5 January 2022 anyone over the age of 18 will be eligible for the booster shot 4 months from their second vaccination shot.
  • Those classified as immunocompromised and who have received a third dose of the Covid-19 vaccination are also eligible for a booster dose 6 months from their third primary dose.
