DAY NINE - Taking the campaign from end to end of NZ

Alex Forrest’s commitment to achieving presumptive legislation to recognise firefighters’ occupational cancer is seeing him travel the length of NZ.

An early flight was well worth it with Invercargill Local’s wonderful hospitality including a famous Southland cheese roll and quick trip to Bluff for the obligatory photo.

Then it was a full house for the station visit with about 40 members making the most of the opportunity to hear Alex detail the scientific basis for presumptive legislation, and the necessary occupational hygiene measures to minimise the impact of exposures to toxins.

Following the close of nominations for the election of the Central Branch positions of Branch Secretary, Branch President and Branch Vice President, I received one nomination for Branch Vice President and nominations for Branch President and Branch Secretary .
