DAY TEN: Champion for the cause

Te Atatu MP Alfred Ngaro has put his support behind the campaign for presumptive legislation for occupational cancer.

After hearing about the science and the international legislation from Alex Forrest, and the firefighter’s cancer experience from Northern Branch President Jeff Shrimpton, Mr Ngaro was quick to understand and pledge his support.

Mr Ngaro is now one of our champions for the recognition of firefighters’ occupational cancer and we will be working with him to get presumptive legislation across the line.
