The Union, (Steve Warner, Peter Hallett, Peter Nicolle, Jim Ryburn, Denis Fitzmaurice, Boyd Raines, Derek Best and the unions lawyer Peter Cranney,) met with the Fire Service (Janine Hearn, Brett Warwick, Brendon Nally, Chris Wells and their lawyer Geoff Davenport) in mediation on Friday 23rd March regarding managements purporting to cancel what they have titled "discretionary leave".

The parties have reached an agreement to resolve this matter which essentially provides that the employer when considering any "discretionary timing" of any leave to be taken must act fairly and reasonably and on an individual basis.

Further details will be provided next week when the final signed agreement is received from the mediator.
