I just wanted to pass on to all members how awesome your continuing response has been towards this disaster.

As the Secretary I take an enormous amount of pride in being a member of this Local, the efforts being made in the face of adversity is a credit to every one of you, to the Union and to the Fire Service.

I also wish to pass on the gratitude of this Local towards the crews from the Locals outside of Christchurch. To leave your families and homes to respond to the aide of our community is very much appreciated. The support that fellow fire fighters give to each other is exactly what makes this Union strong and is what we should all take pride in being members of.
