Members have been advised of the nominations received for the President and Vice President positions, and the reasons for the delay in commencing these Elections (4 July 2018).

As there are members standing for both positions the Election for President will be undertaken first and will commence very shortly.

Acting on legal advice the Committee determined to not commence the Elections as should have occurred because of false information circulated about one of the candidates. This false information was clearly intended to affect or impact improperly on the Elections.

The Committee directed that the false information be withdrawn – however that direction was ignored. The Committees expectation that common sense, and personal integrity and honour would happen has unfortunately proved incorrect.

The Election cannot be obstructed any longer and although under the cloud of false information, the Election must go ahead.

Auckland Local Webpage

Members have asked a number of questions about a couple of Auckland Local Committee members setting up a webpage purporting to reflect the Unions position.

Quite why this is necessary as the only requirement for any Local to use the Union webpage is that the information put up is true, and not simply a fantasy.

Most of what is up on the webpage:

  • Simply is not true
  • Has been made up
  • Is fake.

And it appears that part of the Auckland Local Committee have absolutely no input into the content – they find out what is on the website if they need it.

However the puppets are having their strings well and truly pulled.
