In 2007, the NZPFU and NZFS signed the Tauranga Kawerau Amalgamation document grandparenting conditions for those employed in the district and setting out transfers and travel terms and conditions.

In recent years, the Tauranga and Kawerau Locals have been meeting with FENZ management to resolve matters affected by the 2007 agreement and the attached 2025 document has been drafted as a result.

Both Locals have confirmed they have socialised the 2007 document and the new proposed 2025 agreement with the membership by email and discussed the proposal and changes in meetings.

If you are a member of either the Kawerau Local or the Tauranga Local and you have questions about the new Agreement and what will change or be affected,  then please contact your Local Secretary or President immediately for that information.

Both Locals have now requested the new document be put to a vote of affected members.

  • Two separate electronic ballots for the Tauranga and Kawerau memberships will be conducted simultaneously.
  • The electronic ballot will be held from 9am Tuesday the 16th September until 5pm on Wednesday 1 October 2025.
  • Each of the Locals must vote for the new 2025 Agreement for that Agreement to be signed and applied. That requires a simple majority of all those that vote for each Local.
  • If the majority of one (or both) Local/s votes against the new agreement then the new agreement will not be signed or implemented.
  • If the new agreement is not accepted then the 2007 agreement will still apply.

Electronic Ballot Process

  • The electronic ballot will be held from 9am Tuesday the 16th September until 5pm on Wednesday 1 October 2025.

  • Finally, click the "Proceed to vote confirm page"
  • Next, check and confirm your selection then click "Submit Vote" or "Back to make a correction"
