Members are advised that further to NTM 03-04 20 February 2004 and ARFC e-mail last week;

Please ensure that any level 2 boots that were submerged in flood water are not worn or decontaminated and are set aside in a secure area until further notice.

Please ensure also, that any level 2 PPE that was contaminated has been bagged and tagged and sent away for launder/decontamination.

Please take care in handling this equipment and all precautions should be taken.

The Union is taking this issue up with regional management to reach a satisfactory and safe outcome.

Yesterday’s notice (below) from District Commander Mackereth once again highlights the dire state of the Fire and Emergency fleet.

There are currently NO relief aerials available in the country to replace the Parnell aerial that has suffered a steering malfunction.
