Important Reminder About Submissions

To those members who attended the special meeting at Tauranga Fire Station on Friday 4^th. Thank You.

I’m sure you will have understood the seriousness of the challenges ahead, highlighted by the NZPFU leadership that attended.

To those that couldn’t attend, please ask questions of those that did. I is vitally important we receive submission from all of our members either individually or on a crew by crew basis, take the time to help us help you. Submissions must be e-mailed to the union office no later than 10^th October on wellington@nzpfu.org.nz. Well done to the Kawerau local who had more off duty members present than the Tauranga local did. Get involved people… It's your career at stake.

Following the close of nominations for the election of the Central Branch positions of Branch Secretary, Branch President and Branch Vice President, I received one nomination for Branch Vice President and nominations for Branch President and Branch Secretary .

Following the close of nominations for the election of the Southern Branch positions of Branch Secretary, Branch President and Branch Vice President, I had received one nomination for each position.

Yesterday’s notice (below) from District Commander Mackereth once again highlights the dire state of the Fire and Emergency fleet.

There are currently NO relief aerials available in the country to replace the Parnell aerial that has suffered a steering malfunction.
