The NZPFU and Fire and Emergency met in mediation today which was part of the facilitation application process.

The Parties have agreed to reconvene bargaining for the 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th November 2025 in Christchurch.

The NZPFU has agreed to withdraw the strike notified for 31^st  October but has indicated a strike notice for the 7^th November will be issued.

Depending on the progress of bargaining on the 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th the NZFU will consider withdrawing the strike on the 7^th and any other notified strike, and FENZ will consider withdrawing it’s application for facilitation.

Both parties welcome the return to the bargaining table and both are committed to productive discussions in an attempt to conclude the negotiations.
