Congratulations to Joe Stanley who has been elected Vice President of the Union. We welcome Joe to the team and look forward to working with him to further the interests of the members.

There were a number of votes declared invalid due to ballot numbers not matching signing sheets for a couple of stations, some votes for Mike Powell who withdrew from the election, and other spoiled votes.

The Conference discussed the voting process at our meeting in Christchurch last week, and Wellington Local will be trialling electronic voting for the Local elections next year.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Returning Officer
