The official term start day for the new NZPFU Auckland Local Committee is the 1st of August.

Congratulations and welcome to new members Daniel Rosan, Theo Brain, Chonell Ford, Josh Nicholls and Scott Wilson, and welcome back to the rest of the committee Brett Goodhue, Jamie Whitehead, Ivan Millan, Nigel Foulkes, and Adam Wright. It is healthy that the positions were contested and your votes have decided who will represent you.

It is important to acknowledge the good work and representation of John Waldow, Steve Devine, James Hall and Sulu Devoe who are not continuing on the Auckland Local. Thank you for your mahi. Unfortunately, much of the work you do is not visible to the members you serve and the reward you get is largely limited to the pat on your back you give yourselves. Looking back only about 5 years John and Sulu did an enormous amount of work with a small dedicated committee which has now grown into a full and engaged committee.

Today I want to express my personal gratitude to Sulu for the work he has done to support me into my new role. Sulu understands succession and gives so much. I have known Sulu for quite a few years and I continue to be wowed by his insight, wisdom and resolve. I am enormously grateful for the opportunity to have worked in his team.

Auckland Local President
