The Auckland Local has received communication from John and Sulu that they are undertaking Court proceedings and they no longer wish us to engage or entertain any offer from the National Committee about their expulsions.

We are glad that they have a chance to find a resolution and encourage members to support them financially if you are able.

The account for Legal Aid is:

With John and Sulu undertaking Court proceedings against the National Committee, all further engagement will now proceed through their Lawyers.

The Auckland Local Committee is sad that we could not find a resolution with their case and we understand the stresses and frustration that they must be going through.

The Auckland Local Committee will be working along with the National Committee and other Locals to modernise and improve the Union Rules in 2019 to help prevent this sort of event from occurring ever again.

The Local recognises the enormous support, both emotionally and financially, that Sulu and John have with Auckland Firefighters, and we wish them all the best in their legal avenues and the path to natural justice.

The Auckland Local will continue to seek answers from the National Committee, to our complaints regarding other rule breaches not directly related to the expulsion.
