Notice to Auckland Local Members

A number of members are aware of the debacle created by AM Cocker and then supported by Regional Management in regard to the highly flawed selection process for short-listing candidates for promotion to recently advertised Senior Station Officer positions in Areas 4 and 5.

The Union has now placed this matter into dispute.

Until such time as this Dispute is resolved, the Local advises that no member is to participate in any activity with regard to Senior Station Officer Practicals, including, but not limited to, practical evaluations that have been scheduled to take place in Auckland.

Following the close of nominations for the election of the Central Branch positions of Branch Secretary, Branch President and Branch Vice President, I received one nomination for Branch Vice President and nominations for Branch President and Branch Secretary .

Following the close of nominations for the election of the Southern Branch positions of Branch Secretary, Branch President and Branch Vice President, I had received one nomination for each position.

Yesterday’s notice (below) from District Commander Mackereth once again highlights the dire state of the Fire and Emergency fleet.

There are currently NO relief aerials available in the country to replace the Parnell aerial that has suffered a steering malfunction.
