Notice to Auckland Local Members - Alex Forrest Visit

Members will be aware that Canadian firefighter, lawyer and international expert on presumptive legislation, Alex Forrest is currently in the country to talk to politicians, media and firefighters.

Unfortunately due to the tragic events in Christchurch, some of the pre-arranged media events have had to be altered, but his visits to Auckland Stations are still going ahead as scheduled below:

  • Wednesday 27th March - City Station 3pm, Takapuna 6:30pm.
  • Thursday 28th March - Te Atatu 9:00am, Mt Wellington 12pm, Papatoetoe 3:00pm.

Alex will hope to educate firefighters about the dangers of cancer, what we can to help minimise our exposure, and the case for the introduction of presumptive legislation in New Zealand.

We encourage all members to make an effort to attend one of the scheduled times.

Can I ask that SSO’s co-ordinate to allow as many on duty crew attend one of the time slots as operational requirements allow.
