Today the NZPFU accepted two days of facilitated bargaining on the basis that FENZ brings an enhanced offer to the table.

We were contacted by the Employment Relations Authority today offering the 30th and 31st March for facilitated bargaining. The NZPFU has consistently been calling for bargaining to recommence as we cannot resolve this dispute unless we are around the table genuinely negotiating.

On the 5th March FENZ CE Kerry Gregory informed the Union that they were working up a new offer.  We look forward to receiving that offer in facilitated bargaining on the 30th March.

Earlier today we notified of a one-hour strike from 12pm for Wednesday the 1st April.  We will not be striking on Friday 3 April 2026 as that is Good Friday and all those on leave should be able to enjoy precious time with whanau and friends.

The notified strikes are below:

  • One hour from 12 noon on Friday 20th March
  • One hour from 12 noon on Monday 23rd March
  • One hour from 12 noon on Friday the 27th March
  • One hour from 12 noon on Monday the 30th March
  • One hour from 12 noon on Wednesday 1 April 2026.
