The Covid-19 vaccination debate has been toxic and harmful at work and in our personal lives.  NZPFU National Secretary Wattie Watson talks to Clinical Pyschologist Catherine Gallagher about why we have developed and harboured such strong views in this crisis and what we need to think about if we want to keep our mates and partners.  This is a point in our history – our relationships with family, colleagues and friends should be more enduring than the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Retirement of Senior Station Officer Sulu Devoe

After 47 years of dedicated service, Senior Station Officer Sulu Devoe has made the decision to retire. Sulu has been a strong advocate for NZPFU members’ rights and terms and conditions of employment. He would always put firefighter safety and wellbeing front and centre, never failing to raise concerns with Fire and Emergency Management, sometimes ruffling feathers in the process.
