The NZPFU has made the practical preparations for bargaining to continue as planned on the 3rd and 4th September.

FENZ walked away from the bargaining during the August session unilaterally declaring that bargaining had ended.  FENZ then sought mediation.  The NZPFU has refused mediation as it is our strong view that bargaining has not concluded.  In fact, Workplace Relations Manager Michael Stephenson admitted in recent correspondence that there had been some productive discussions during the last day we met in bargaining.

To ensure we can meet, the NZPFU has organised a meeting room for the 3rd and 4th and have let FENZ know we will be there waiting to bargain as previously agreed.

We have also reminded FENZ that they are yet to provide information requested, including the correspondence between FENZ and the Public Service Commission about the NZPFU bargaining and FENZ’s June 13 offer which was rejected by 99% of our members that voted.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
