NZPFU Protect Income Protection Insurance Reimbursement

The NZPFU will shortly be providing FENZ with the list of NZPFU members who signed up to the NZPFU Protect Income Protection Insurance for the reimbursement of premiums.

For those that joined the NZPFU Protect Income Protection Insurance any time between July 2023 and 3 June 2024 and paid the weekly insurance premiums will not have to do anything to get their premiums reimbursed.

The NZPFU will provide FENZ with a spreadsheet of members who signed up, detailing when they signed up and the premiums that member paid by direct debit to the NZPFU Income Protection Insurance account.

FENZ will then reimburse the total amount paid in the insurance premiums into the bank account that FENZ pays the member’s wages into (which may be different from the bank account the member elected to pay the direct debit premiums from).   FENZ has confirmed they will reimburse the full $50 weekly premium for every premium paid by the member.  The total amount will vary as members signed up at different times.

FENZ starting paying the premiums direct to Protect from 3 June 2024 so there are no reimbursements for the NZPFU Protect Income Protection Insurance from that date.

For those that are not covered by the NZPFU Protect Income Protection Insurance but have other life and/or income protection premiums to claim reimbursement up to $2600 from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024 will need to claim reimbursement directly from FENZ.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
