Palmerston North Local Committee President

In accordance with Rule B.10.5.1 of the “Rules of the New Zealand Professional Fire Fighters Union INC”, nominations are called for the position of Palmerston North Local President due to a vacancy arising from the resignation of Palmerston North Local President Tim Scott.

A copy of the Nomination Form to be used and the NZPFU Charter is attached and is also available on the NZPFU website under Resources, files for download.

Completed nomination forms must be received by the Branch Returning Officer by 5pm on 20th of November 2020.

Please ensure that all members are aware that nominations are called, and the elections are overseen by the Returning Officer as per below.

Please forward all nominations to the Central Branch Returning Officer:

  • All nomination must include the completed attached nomination form with Candidate, Proposer and Seconder details and the Candidate agreeing to abide by the NZPFU Charter.

  • The Nominee, Proposer and Seconder must be current financial members of the NZPFU.

  • The nominee/candidate may provide a biography with their nomination form.  The biography must not exceed one side of an A4 sheet of paper and may include a photograph or artwork.  The biography will be published to members prior to voting.

Kawerau Local Vice President Election Result

In accordance with the NZPFU Rules, Kawerau members are informed that Paul Newbold has been elected Local Vice President.

Auckland Local Committee Declaration

The NZPFU Conference in 2022 agreed to a Rule change that provided that the Auckland Local could have a committee of 20 including the three Offices of Local President, Secretary and Vice President. The recent elections of the Auckland Local President and Vice President impacted on the number of nominees for the Auckland Local Committee resulting in the Local Committee now being declared.
