PAY EQUITY AND WOMEN IN THE WORKFORCE

NZPFU members are encouraged to participate in events organised around the country on Saturday, 20 September to protest the gutting of the pay equity legislation that the National-lead Government has claimed saved $13 billion and therefore taken from the wages of women workers.

This was a serious and damning indication that this Coalition Government does not respect women in the workplace as part of a range of anti-worker, anti-union bills and changes rushed through.

For more information on the events in your area  go to Pay Equity Events - NZCTU. Available for download is a flyer for the Wairarapa event.  NZPFU members are requested to wear NZPFU merchandise when attending these events.

For more information about the cuts and the effects on women in the workplace go to Pay Equity 2025 - NZCTUAttached is a fact sheet detailing the impacts on nurses.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
