Presentation of the Petition Calling for Full Independent Inquiry into FENZ this Wednesday

The NZPFU petition calling for a full and independent inquiry into FENZ will be presented to Select Committee Chair Jan Tinetti and other Committee MPs this Wednesday on the steps of Parliament.

NZPFU members will be striking from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

The presentation will be held during the strike period.

Striking and off-duty NZPFU members and their supporters are asked to gather at the Richard Seddon statue in front of the steps, and on the Parliament Lawn.

The Select Committee Report of the Inquiry into FENZ's management of fleet was damning, vindicating everything NZPFU members have been saying about the dire state of the fleet and its mismanagement. FENZ CE Kerry Gregory, the Deputy National Commander, and other senior leaders appeared before the committee. The evidence presented by FENZ was not believed and was deemed "intentionally misleading".

FENZ was also heavily criticised for spending more than $275,000 on PR consultants and lawyers for this inquiry.

The Committee found the dire state and mismanagement of the fleet was just one of many issues in FENZ. The Committee's findings align directly with the petition's call for a full inquiry into FENZ's capability and capacity.
