This notice is NOT for members who are covered by the NZPFU Protect Income Protection Insurance. FENZ pays the premium for the NZPFU Protect Income Protection Insurance direct to the insurer.
The notice IS FOR NZPFU members covered by the collective agreement who are not covered by the NZPFU Protect Income Protection Insurance but have their own income protection insurance and are eligible to claim reimbursement.
In accordance with the 2022 settlement, NZPFU members covered by the collective agreement can claim reimbursement from FENZ for income protection insurance premiums up to $2600 per annum ($50 per week).
Members can now claim the reimbursement from FENZ for the period 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.
Am I eligible?
- Must be a member of the NZPFU and your position/role is covered by the collective employment agreement (Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4)
- Must not be covered by the NZPFU Protect Income Protection Policy (as the benefit of $50 per week has already been paid by FENZ direct to the insurer).
- The reimbursement available is for income protection insurance
Process for reimbursement?
- Read the attached instructions
- Fill out the attached PFU CEA insurance reimbursement form
- Email the required information to PFU-ins-reimburse@fireandemergency.nz. Do not email the NZPFU as we do not handle the reimbursement claims.
