Members who have read Management’s latest Auckland Region Update will see that Fire Region Manager Butt invited the Union to an SMT meeting where he would be talking about the Fire Service’s change to sprinklered building responses.

The Union attended this meeting where we stated that we did not believe that this was the appropriate forum to be presented with Management’s decision to change.

The Union backed this up with a letter to FRM Butt. The Union then left the meeting. Essentially, no discussion took place. We invited FRM Butt to meet with us at a later date to discuss their changes.

Members will be kept informed of developments.
