Members are advised that as of 0700 hours, Tuesday 22 January 2008, the ban on manning Silverdale Yellow Watch is lifted. The positions will be covered by staff on overtime.

Attached is the Protocol that has been signed by the three parties involved, after on-going consultation and agreement with the Local Executive.

These Protocols have addressed the concerns the Union raised with the Fire Service in relation to the Health and Safety and well-being of our members.

The DCFO of North Shore Fire District has been appointed a Co-DCFO of Silverdale.

The Union is currently working with the Fire Service on the amalgamation of the Silverdale Fire District into the North Shore Fire District.

The Union is also working with the Fire Service on the re-building of Silverdale, which should start in the next two to three months. As a result of the scale of work involved, the station will be relocated during the construction phase.

The Union’s position is that when the relocation occurs, 24/7 will be introduced to Silverdale.
