TAURANGA KAWERAU AGREEMENT BALLOT RESULTS

Tauranga and Kawerau Local members were balloted on a new agreement to replace the 2007 Tauranga Kawerau Amalgamation agreement.

Each Local was balloted separately and simultaneously. Both Locals had to vote in favour of the new Agreement before that Agreement could be signed and applied. A simple majority of all those that voted in each Local was required.

The ballot closed at 5pm on 1 October 2025 and as both Locals did not vote in favour of the new Agreement the 2007 Agreement remains in place.
