Members have reported some Managers are intending to apply the transfers and vacancies policy across the new larger districts.  Managers cannot unilaterally impose this change.  There are provisions in the NZPFU collective agreement that must be considered and applied.

Any change to the contractual rights will have to be by agreement.  The Union has been in contact with FENZ on this issue but the matter has not been fully discussed and no changes have been agreed.

In the interim the transfers and vacancies policies must be applied as they have been prior to the 27 September 2021 stand up of Tranche 2.  We understand the Area Commanders and HR have been informed of the same status quo.

We will keep members informed of any discussions with FENZ on this issue.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
