Members may have seen the E-mail from Mike Hall alleging that the Union has breached the bargaining Process Agreement. The Union Emphatically denies that allegation.

The BPA requires mediation prior to giving notice of, or taking, industrial action. In any event, the Law is quite clear that Firefighters have the right to take Industrial Action.

This morning, well prior to Mike Halls E-mail, because the Union had received some anonymous information of the Fire Services scheme, filed in the Employment Relations Authority, seeking a Declaration that the Industrial Action complied with the BPA and the Law. It also seeks that the Application be immediately removed to the Employment Court to be heard with urgency.

Therefore before Mike Halls so-called deadline expires, the Union expects to be in Court with its own Application.
