The NZPFU and PSA met with FENZ today in mediation resulting from our joint application to the Employment Relations Authority regarding the failure of FENZ to consult on the restructuring where FENZ plans to slash jobs and significantly change risk management and operational structures.

On the 11th November FENZ dropped a 260-page document without having engaged in any process with the unions prior.

The matter was not resolved today.

The Unions want FENZ to stop the current process which has FENZ making a decision on the restructure at the end of January and plans to implement changes and disestablish positions in March and April.

Feedback on FENZ's document closed yesterday. We understand from our memberships that FENZ would have received feedback that overwhelmingly criticises the process and the restructure.

It is likely this matter will be set down for a hearing by the Employment Relations Authority if FENZ does not withdraw the document.
