Paraparaumu Members

(Officers and Fire-fighters) are asked to advise the secretary of the Wellington Local if they would be interested in a fixed term secondment to Paraparaumu Fire Station.

The positions would be on a Black Watch basis and the term could be 6 months at a time.

Hepatitis B Vaccinations

Members are asked to advise any of the Local Reps listed above whether they have had problems obtaining the Hepatitis B Vaccinations for the Fire Service recommended reimbursement of $80.00.

Recruits Riding Appliances

Members are further reminded that appliances should have at least one Firefighter riding in the back, who has, at least one years’ service and has

successfully completed a Phase 2 training course. There may be times when this is unattainable but they should be very far and few between in a brigade the size of Wellington.

This has been custom and practice for many years and it is important to maintain for the safety of all fire-fighters.

Wellington South Rep

Members are advised that a position on the Wellington Local Committee has arisen due to the resignation of Shane Hegan. Forms will soon be sent out to stations. Shane spent a number of terms on the Local Committee and we would like to express our thanks for his efforts and good luck in his future Endeavour’s.

Merry Christmas
