New members Recommended
Members will be aware that the Local Executive committee interviewed 10 Applicants who wished to re join the Union.
From those interviews, 8 people were recommended by your Local Executive for membership. Subsequent to this, it was agreed to have a secret ballot
so that members could endorse the committee’s recommendations.
The Fire-fighters recommended for acceptance are as follows.

The ballot papers will be issued shortly and the committee asks that you consider their membership in light of their recommendation.
District Amalgamation
Members are advised that the amalgamation of Wellington South and North Districts has been approved by the Commission. Effective date for this is 1 January 2005. The Local Executive is formulating a working group to sort out the myriad of issues that this raises.
