Thanks 

The Local executive would like to extend it’s thanks to SO Kevin Morrison for making himself available to jump for SO S Hudson so that he could attend last weeks committee meeting. Also, thanks to Craig Dally, Operations Manager Central Comcen who facilitated and enabled the Comcen rep Kevin Dorgan to attend.

SMS Usage   

Members are advised that should they have questions or issues with training on SMS r usage, they are to contact the Fire Service trainers. These trainers are Union embers and there is an understanding by SMS managers and the Union that SMS is or fire-fighters, to be managed by fire-fighters.

Local Elections 07 

Members are advised that Local Executive committee positions are due for election in August this year. The Local Executive is made up of 6 reps from Wellington Fire District and 3 from the Hutt Fire District. Also, the President, Vice President and Secretary’s positions are due for election.

Therefore, the local calls for members to seriously consider any contribution they can ake towards the operation of the Local Union. The positions are for 3 years and committee members will be required to attend meetings, hold meetings at their nominated station of responsibility, act as a liaison point and relay information and answer questions etc. Members may also be asked to take part in union sanctioned working parties, functional groups, facilitate in disputes and generally look after Union members interests.

Positions required in 07 will be:
Vice President
Secretary
6 members from Wgtn Fire District
3 members from Hutt Fire District

Kawerau Local Vice President Election Result

In accordance with the NZPFU Rules, Kawerau members are informed that Paul Newbold has been elected Local Vice President.


Auckland Local Committee Declaration

The NZPFU Conference in 2022 agreed to a Rule change that provided that the Auckland Local could have a committee of 20 including the three Offices of Local President, Secretary and Vice President. The recent elections of the Auckland Local President and Vice President impacted on the number of nominees for the Auckland Local Committee resulting in the Local Committee now being declared.
