PSA support for NZPFU members

We have received the below message of solidarity from the PSA Auckland and Northern Region convenors:

Kia ora NZPFU kaimahi,

The work you are all doing to raise the profile of your struggle as some of our most vital and life-saving workers to be compensated adequately, and have your health and livelihoods prioritised as they should be, is important and necessary and appreciated.

You all deserve so much better than what you’ve all had to put up with through drawn-out bargaining negotiations, unsafe equipment, ridiculous working weeks, an employer who fails to consult its unions on restructuring attempts, and from what I can see at least, a deeply raw deal from FENZ, time and time again, and yet still working despite an expired Collective Agreement since the end of June ’24.

What we really want to say is keep going. Keep fighting the good fight. It’s a tough thing to keep encouraged to keep going, but if anyone can do it, it’s y’all.

So, from your fellow union members and public servants who recognise that your struggle is our struggle, we stand with you in solidarity and support you as you strike.

In support and solidarity,

Luke Weerdenburg & Finn Campbell
PSA Delegate Co-Conveners for the Auckland & Northern Regions
