Ban – C.F.B.T. – Heat Source

After receiving a report from the Dunedin Local and subsequent discussions, Conference 2010 resolved:

“That a ban be placed on the use of Manufactured Board (e.g. MDF/Particle Board) being burnt (i.e. used as the heat source) in C.F.B.T., and that further studies be carried out on the effects on those who have been exposed to the fumes caused by burning such materials.”

Conference resolved that the Union make a donation to the Relief Fund that we are advised the EPM Union (Engineers’ Union) is to establish.

Once the EPM Union has provided details of the Bank Account, members will be advised so that individual’s may donate.

Collective Agreement Negotiations

The Union has formally initiated Bargaining with the Fire Service.

At this stage negotiations are intended to commence and proceed on 6th, 13th and 14th December.
