COVID-19 Update #1

The NZPFU has raised a series of issues with FENZ on the management of staff during this international public health emergency.

Issues include special leave for those that are required to self isolate, preparation for firefighters who may be exposed due to emergency and medical response, and protocols for quarantine if becomes necessary.

There is a COVID-19 committee which has NZPFU representation and this morning FENZ management are meeting to discuss developments including leave arrangements for those required to self isolate.

A national notice with the outcome of those meetings will follow shortly.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
