The Union has been approached by Management with regard to having staff undertake the testing of the new Level IV Gas Suits.

We have written back to Management informing them that this was work formerly done by trained B.A. Technicians in the now defunct B.A. Departments.

The Union Committee has previously published and publically stated their displeasure at the decision of the Fire Service to take testing and repairs away from Union members.

Members are advised to take no part whatsoever in the testing and servicing of these new, or any other, Level IV Gas Suits. This applies to any equipment associated with Breathing Apparatus in any way, along with any process or procedure that had been performed by former B.A. Technicians.
