The Union has written to Area 4 Manager Gregory seeking a meeting to discuss this issue.

The Union has also received feedback from members that there is no consistent approach in the delivery of gas suit training and that key components of the suit ensemble are missing. 

The Union is also aware that Fire Service Management has also had these concerns raised with them by staff.

Members are advised to refrain from delivering any Level IV suit training until there is a resolution as to how this training will be conducted The Union invites any member who has concerns with regard to this issue, to contact a committee member or the Union Office.

Members will be advised as and when more information is available.

Return to Work Duties

We have been told that staff wanting to do Return to Work Duties will have to do them at District HQ and they do not intend to reimburse your travel costs, “you are getting an enhanced pay and you can fund your own travel”. We have since got an agreement that the travel distance reimbursement will be paid for travel to District HQ.

Following a devastating house fire in Milldale north of Auckland yesterday the Local has written to the Acting National Commander formally asking for Fire and Emergency to undertake an operational review.
