New date for 40th anniversary Career Women Firefighters celebrations

Due to the impact of Covid-19 restrictions, the NZPFU hosted celebration to commemorate 40 years of career women firefighters will now be held on 12 October 2021 [POSTPONED]. All other details remain the same.

Please see the attached invitation to members who may wish to attendIf you had previously responded to attend the original date please now confirm whether you will still attend on 12 October 2021 [POSTPONED]. Please confirm your attendance to Katie.Pocock@fireandemergency.nz no later than 1 October 2021.

In accordance with the NZPFU Rules, Wellington members are informed that Clark Townsley has been elected Wellington Local President.


Retirement of Senior Station Officer Sulu Devoe

After 47 years of dedicated service, Senior Station Officer Sulu Devoe has made the decision to retire. Sulu has been a strong advocate for NZPFU members’ rights and terms and conditions of employment. He would always put firefighter safety and wellbeing front and centre, never failing to raise concerns with Fire and Emergency Management, sometimes ruffling feathers in the process.


TRIENNIAL LOCAL ELECTIONS

An election for the Kawerau Local President position shall be conducted by electronic voting commencing at 0900 (9am) Monday 30 June 2025 and closes 1700 (5pm) Friday 11 July 2025.
