In the past there has been a need for the Local to obtain “Union Stand-Ins” for the Executive (see Appendix A attached).
This system is required to allow your officials the ability to attend meetings, conferences, etc., that fall outside the “time off” that the Fire Service allows. These shifts would only be available to any:
- National Committee Member in the Auckland Local
- Auckland Local President
- Auckland Local Vice President
- Auckland Local Secretary
Due to the size of the Local, it is envisaged that each member would give a stand-in every 2/3 years.
The Rosters in the above officials’ district will be asked to obtain stand-ins for these officials. The stand-in you do will not be paid back by the official. The Rosters will keep a record of who does a “Union Stand-In”.
