Given the completion of the Ballot on Industrial Action, the Fire Service has communicated a revised position regarding the negotiations.

This proposal includes both an amended offer on the term and wage increases, but also links in a proposal to settle the Days in Lieu Holidays Act litigation.

The Committee, after considering the revised Fire Service proposal, has determined that a Special Conference of the Union will be called to provide a wider forum for discussion and consideration.

That meeting will be held on Friday 13th April 2007.

The Committee has determined that nothing further regarding the lodging of Industrial Action will occur until that meeting has determined a future course of action.

Members will be updated immediately after that meeting.
